Why Your Wardrobe Should Be as Healthy as Your Plate

Why Your Wardrobe Should Be as Healthy as Your Plate

I didn't start Natural Nibbles Pastries because I wanted to bake; I started it because I'm diabetic. I needed my food to be my medicine.

That philosophy leaked into my jewellery design before I even realized it. When I was sourcing materials for the Lead Role Collection, I refused to settle for fast-fashion alloys that turn green or irritate the skin. If I wouldn't put junk in my body, why would I put junk on my body?

This is why I use 304 stainless steel—hypoallergenic, tarnish-resistant, and tough. Just like us.

I think of my jewellery as 'Armor for the Soul.' It's that final touch you put on in the morning that says, 'I am healthy, I am vibrant, and I am in control of my narrative.'

My mum used to say, 'Patricia, your body is the only home you'll live in your entire life—treat it like one.' She was talking about food at the time (usually while side-eyeing my teenage snack choices), but the lesson stuck. And it applies to everything we invite into our daily lives.

The earrings that don't make your lobes itch by lunchtime. The bracelet that doesn't leave a green shadow on your wrist. The necklace you forget you're wearing because it just works with your body, not against it.

Being mindful of what we consume—whether it's a zero-added-sugar treat or a handcrafted keepsake—is the ultimate act of self-love. It's also the kind of wisdom worth passing down.

So this Mother's Day, maybe the best gift isn't just something beautiful. It's something that honors the body it adorns.
